The craft of travel writing
“We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelier way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us,” Kahlil Gibran
How does one capture the sensory data at the heart of the travel experience? How does the writer map the visceral detail of new places, bringing them alive in concrete and specific detail for the reader?
Panelists discuss their collective works, inspired by their travels. Join Heather Ellis, Shivaji Das and Ben Allmon, with Piia Mustamaki.

BOOK LAUNCH, MELBOURNE, VICTORIA

Sunday, 17 April 2016

Ubuntu: One Woman's Motorcycle Odyssey Across Africa was launched by Father Bob Maguire on Sunday, 17 April at Kustom Kommune, in Collingwood, Melbourne. The launch was an outstanding success with around 200 wonderful family, friends - old and new - sharing this special celebration with me. My memoir has been a life long journey spanning twenty years, a much longer journey than the 15 months, 19 countries and 42,000 kilometres I rode through in Africa on my beloved Yamaha TT600 back in 1993/1994. Thank you to all who attended the launch and purchased a copy of Ubuntu
